About Me
I am a second-generation American, the daughter of Tanzanian immigrants. I grew up in New York City and Pittsburgh. After college, I worked in corporate America in the actuarial field.
My day-to-day consisted of working numbers, and I loved it, but on my own time, I loved traveling alone or with family and friends. I loved planning trips and advising others about trips they were planning to places I had been. This especially came into play with East Africa since I visited there often to see family in Tanzania.
With all this traveling, I formed an idea. I wanted to create a travel company where people could come together to see Africa and the broader black diaspora beyond the “adventure travel” lens that is used when going to the continent. I wanted to engage with local businesses rather than larger companies with more online presence. I am super excited to roll out the group journeys that I have curated with local partners for you to enjoy.
